Wine Notes: The Ultreïa comes from slopes of volcanic rock which gives it this powerful, smokey complexity blended with sumptuous red fruit.

Farming Notes: The vineyard is currently undergoing a biodynamic conversion. All the Rostaing-Tayard wines are Vinified by individual vineyards so each wine is a true expression of its place. 

Gamay, from a criminally unknown region - the Coteaux Du Lyonnais - a wine growing are which hugs the gastronomic capital of France, Lyon and sits between Beajoulais and the Northern Rhone. A melting pot of the greener, more lush Beajoulais and the windswept, sunbaked slopes of the northern Rhone. 

Producer Notes: Emmanuel Rostaing-Tayard grew up in this picturesque part of the Coteaux Du Lyonnais - Savigny. Moving back after experience in both Burgundy and New Zealand Emmanuel narrowly saved the last remaining parcels of Gamay. He now nurtures these vines and excels in creating complex, terroir driven wines showing the true character of the region.
